Morgan
Fairchild plays Sydney Chase, the wealthy and glamorous owner of
the loft building that serves as the hub of the series. Sydney,
the toast of New York, knows everyone, has gone everywhere and done
everything. Now, her past is coming back to haunt her in the form
of a down-an-out musician, Nick Rivers. Sydney has her ultra posh
penthouse on the top of her loft building so that she is involved
with everything that happens in the lives of her tenants - a model
agency, a free medical clinic and a bar. The location shooting is
a big part of THE CITY, infusing the drama with a true
urban feeling. THE CITY was shot using a mixture of film
and tape; and music was created to enhance the sound of the show.
State of the art editing techniques were used to give THE
CITY a cutting edge look and feel. But at the heart of THE
CITY is romance, with a touch of humor.
