THE FREMANTLE CORPORATION DEBUTS NEWLY SIGNED
WESTLAKE ENTERTAINMENT PACKAGE AT MIPCOM AND AFM
(Toronto, ON – October 8, 2008): The Fremantle Corporation is pleased to announce that it will be handling all domestic television and foreign sales initiatives on behalf of independent film distributor, Westlake Entertainment. This agreement includes 40 films that will be included in The Fremantle Corporation’s line up at MIPCOM.
Irv Holender, Fremantle Principal, exclaims, “Westlake’s lineup of films is a terrific sampling of some of the best independent film we have seen. Across the board, we are very pleased with the quality of the films. Our buyers have shown tremendous interest.”
Westlake Entertainment is recognized for its edgy independent fare, including theatrical titles featuring Joan Plowright and Rupert Friend in MRS. PALFREY AT THE CLAREMONT, and Dukes of Hazzard and Smallville's John Schneider in COLLIER & CO. HOT PURSUIT as well as Philip Baker Hall in DUCK. Also as part of The Fremantle Corporation / Westlake Entertainment distribution agreement are festival winners THE PACIFIC AND EDDY and MOHAVE PHONE BOOTH.
A diverse roster of action comedies, thrillers, Zombie ‘genre’ films and dramas will also available at MIPCOM. Included under the Westlake banner of new features are a number of exciting titles from Cineville Films.

The Fremantle Corporation / Westlake Entertainment deal incorporates 30 films for foreign distribution and 43 films for domestic television. The agreement between Westlake and Fremantle also includes an output deal for future Westlake productions. Fremantle’s sales effort with Westlake begins with this fall’s MIPCOM and AFM events.
