is Mikhail Baryshnikov’s brilliant reproduction of the classic
holiday favorite. It tells the story of a young girl named Clara,
who is given a wooden Nutcracker as a Christmas gift by her Godfather,
Drosselmeyer, who possesses magical powers. The nutcracker is transformed
into a handsome Prince who takes Clara away into a realm of magic
and fantasy until, with the coming of dawn, Drosselmeyer dispels Clara’s
dream and returns her to the “real” world. |
