VISIT WEIRD AND WONDERFUL HOTELS
AT THE FREMANTLE CORPORATION
(Toronto, ON – March 27, 2009): The Fremantle Corporation hopes that your passport is up-to-date so that you can visit the world’s most extraordinary destinations via its newest series WEIRD AND WONDERFUL HOTELS debuting at MIPTV.
EU Produced WEIRD AND WONDERFUL HOTELS (26 x 30 Minutes) is a series of self-contained shows. In each episode, three of the strangest hotels from around the globe are visited. This show takes viewers to distant, diverse and exotic countries ranging from Malaysia, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, Fiji, Japan to Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Canada, the US and Kenya. In Turkey, the Ataman Hotel is built out of rock while at the Hotel Palacio de Sal in Bolivia; the building has been constructed out of salt. Imagine sleeping in a Boeing 747, which has been converted into a hostel, or spending the night in a former jail? How about the Santa-themed hotel in the USA or the chocolate-themed rooms at a hotel in the UK?
Viewers are given a guided tour by one of the amusingly offbeat locals, who report in their own language. These memorable characters expose these authentic and bizarre hotels in a light-hearted and hilarious manner.
WEIRD AND WONDERFUL HOTELS is eye-opening entertainment for the whole family. The series has been specifically designed for easy localization, with no re-shoots required. The show’s wacky, international flavor will appeal to TV audiences around the globe.
Take a break from the norm for a stopover at the furthest corners of the Earth where the world’s wackiest hoteliers incite audiences to hang out.
